The Sutlers Supreme

Glossary and Abbreviations

As a military-oriented organisation, NAAFI used numerous abbreviations, acronyms and specialised terms throughout its history. This glossary explains the terminology used across The Sutlers Supreme, helping readers unfamiliar with military or NAAFI language to follow the stories more easily.

When an abbreviation first appears in an article, the full term is normally given followed by the abbreviation in brackets, for example, Royal Army Service Corps (RASC). Thereafter, the abbreviation alone is generally used.

This glossary is updated regularly as new terms appear throughout the archive.
